Scholarships

The Conference on Wind Energy and Wildlife Impacts (CWW) is pleased to announce scholarships to support attendance at our upcoming conference to be held 18-22 September 2023 in Sibenik, Croatia. We recognize that the cost of travel and attendance is a barrier for attendance for some within the community of students and professionals working in the field of wind energy and biodiversity and environmental interactions.  We hope that these scholarships will help to mitigate this barrier for contributors located in the region of CWW2023, as well as for contributors located in new and emerging renewable energy markets.

At least four scholarships which cover the costs of conference fees, round-trip economy airfare or ground-transportation to/from the event, and for accommodation and subsistence during the conference will be awarded in the following categories:

• A. Current graduate or post-graduate student researching an aspect of renewable energy and biodiversity or environmental interactions enrolled at a university located in the Balkans region;
• B. Current graduate or post-graduate student researching an aspect of renewable energy and biodiversity or environmental interactions enrolled at a university located outside of Europe, the United States or Canada;
• C. Full-time professional researcher, stakeholder, consultant or regulator involved in an aspect of renewable energy and biodiversity or environmental interactions located in the Balkans region;
• D. Full-time professional researcher, stakeholder, consultant or regulator involved in an aspect of renewable energy and biodiversity or environmental interactions located outside of Europe, the United States or Canada.

If you are interested in being considered for a scholarship, please note the following:

• Scholarship awards will be selected by the SAC, based on scoring of abstracts submitted for any of the conference topics described here. 
• Scholarships will only be awarded to attendees contributing oral presentations, special sessions, or workshops.  Scholarships will not be awarded for posters or just for attending the event. 
• To indicate whether you want to be considered for a scholarship, please tick the scholarship category when completing the abstract submission form here. 
• If selected for a scholarship, proof of enrolment at a university or for professional employment will be required before the award will be granted.  
• Awards will be announced at the time of the publication of the Conference Program (anticipated in June or July 2023) and award winners will be introduced to the audience during the conference proceedings. 

In the coming months, CWW2023 aims to provide additional financial support for attendees, subject to available funding provided by our generous sponsors.  We hope that by summer 2023 we will be able to announce additional financial support for international attendees. We encourage sponsors interested in supporting our efforts to get in touch with the Organising Committee as soon as possible.
